The SigmaPAC 1914 leadership team had a vision of highly-trained individuals ready to fulfill any role from canvasser to candidate in any race, anywhere in the United States. In 2021, the vision became reality with the creation of our John R. Lewis Social Justice and Political Leadership Boot Camp.
Over two intensive days, Lewis Boot Camp participants engage in a non-partisan, candidate-focused curriculum developed and led by campaign experts from various backgrounds. Participants learn proven strategies and develop skills that are critical to winning campaigns.
We want to help you get in “Good Trouble, Necessary Trouble,” as did our late Brother Congressman John Lewis. You are invited to apply to this dynamic training program led by expert campaign managers who have managed campaigns for Black leaders and issues across the country. The inaugural Lewis Boot Camp took place virtually on August 3-4, 2021. The next Lewis Boot Camp is scheduled for May 3-4, 2024. The 2024 application can be found below.
We look forward to an interactive, educational program covering electoral campaign strategic planning, community engagement, messaging, fundraising, and more. At the core of this boot camp is building solidarity and connection to our brotherhood. We believe by working together and supporting each other we can build Black political power starting at the local level and strengthening our national political networks.
Our interactive training features cutting-edge workshops in leadership, communication, fundraising, and voter engagement. The pinnacle of this program is the campaign simulation in which participants fill specific roles required to develop and lead a winning campaign.
Please note that this application is the first step in the process. After a review of your materials and selection determination by the committee, you will be notified. At the time of notification, you will receive a registration link participate at a cost of $250.
